The tip top of ancient China's government/civilization was the Emperor and his family. Next, in the first class were the Palace court, Nobles, and Government Officials. Following them was the second class. It consisted of all of the peasants. After the peasants is when it started to get ugly for people. They had to live in shacks in the middle of the jungle, and were looked down upon by their society.
The third social class, behind the emperor consisted of artisans, and if you didn't know what artisans means. It means someone that is highly trained in a certain craft, or trades. The social class after them was almost at the bottom was all the merchants. The very last class was the slaves. They were treated horribly. This could be compared to our civilization today. There are the top people like the president and government officials. Then the higher class of people consisting with a lot of people in Hollywood and extremely wealthy people all over. Then the middle class of people nicknamed "the working Americans." Then, the lower classes, minimum wage workers, and some immigrants. Then the very bottom class would be like homeless people. Even though slavery is not relevant in this time period we can refer it back to the 1800s when African-Americans where slaves brought from Africa.
